The Haitian people have been at the vanguard of liberation movements in the Americas for centuries. The Haitian Revolution overthrew French imperialism on the island and sent shockwaves through the hemisphere, inspiring events such as the 1811 ‘German Coast Rebellion’ in Louisiana. Haiti has never been “forgiven” by the imperialist powers for daring to stand up.
Join us on Tuesday, November 8th, 6:30PM, at the Liberation Center to study the enduring legacy of the Haitian revolution.
