The Liberation Center also has a major focus on education.
Prior to the pandemic, we hosted monthly free film screenings and discussions, biweekly study groups on important political and social issues, and open community forums. Educational programming has now been moved online.
Our monthly podcast Philly Liberation Radio brings a socialist perspective of peoples’ movements in Philadelphia, both past and present. We also have a patrons-only version of the podcast that comes out once a month too.
Through our Patreon, we run our Liberation Library – a monthly bookclub that includes a recommended book at the beginning of the month and a patrons-only bookclub discussion over Zoom, facilitated by long-time Liberation Center volunteers and organizers.
And also through our Patreon, we run our PLC Press – a monthly newsletter on the political, social, and economic struggles happening in the streets of Philadelphia. Each newsletter will feature photos, analysis, and interviews with community members, organizers, and Philadelphia Liberation Center volunteers
